Founder & Licensed Psychologist

Meet Shay

As a queer, Mixed Black, non-binary human, I recognized early on in life that not everyone was going to “get it”. As someone that has used therapy throughout life myself, I’m also very aware of how hard it can be to find a therapist you feel affirmed by, let alone who might actually share some of your own identities. As a therapist, I highly value the relationship, and strive to see, understand, and affirm the many pieces of what makes you uniquely you, as well as the pieces that connect you to others. While it’s not always easy to be fully yourself in the world, I enjoy creating space for people to feel safe enough to do that.

I earned a doctorate in clinical psychology as well as a master’s in human sexuality from Widener University in 2017. I have specialized training in working with complex trauma, substance use, multicultural issues, the LGBTQ+ community, as well as sexuality and gender. Some other experiences I commonly work with include mood and anxiety concerns, navigating polyamory, neurodivergence, and giftedness.

I am licensed in PA and authorized to practice telepsychology in the following states: Delaware, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and North Carolina.
