Art Therapy Intern
Meet Madalyn
Hi, I’m Madalyn! My own experiences both in therapy and as an art-maker inspired me to pursue a career where I could merge my love for creativity with my interests in mental health advocacy and social justice. As a bi-racial, cisgender, bisexual woman, my personal experiences navigating complex identities have fueled my dedication to providing care that honors the diverse backgrounds and the lived experiences of those I work with.
Driven by a commitment to equity and inclusivity, I strive to provide culturally conscious, social justice-oriented, and person-centered care. I am dedicated to creating a safe and affirming space informed by cultural sensitivity and humility in which clients of all identities may feel seen, heard, and valued. I aspire to support the exploration of personal identity while also offering resources and guidance to help you achieve your goals.
I am currently an art therapy and counseling graduate student at Drexel University. In my fieldwork, so far, I’ve had the opportunity to support folks living with depression, anxiety, trauma, ASD, and schizophrenia, as well as physical and cognitive injuries or impairments. I have a keen interest in incorporating art therapy approaches into my practice, for those who are interested in exploring incorporating art-making into sessions. I look forward to working with you!
